We are excited to announce a new job opening for a Planning Engineer position in our MEP construction company.
To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in MEP construction project planning and scheduling.
• Strong knowledge of construction scheduling software, such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with MEP construction codes and regulations.
The Following roles and responsibilities that the Planning Engineer will be expected to fulfill:
1. Develop and maintain project schedules using construction scheduling software.
2. Monitor and track project progress, identify potential delays or issues, and develop solutions to keep projects on track.
3. Work closely with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure that project schedules align with overall project goals and objectives.
4. Develop and maintain detailed project documentation, including progress reports, schedules, and budgets.
5. Conduct regular project status meetings to communicate project progress and identify potential issues.
6. Analyze project data and prepare reports on project performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
7. Work with project managers to develop resource plans, including labor, materials, and equipment.
8. Monitor and control project costs, ensuring that projects are completed within budget.
9. Identify and manage project risks, developing and implementing risk mitigation plans.
10. Analyze project data and prepare detailed reports to support claims and extension of time requests, including analysis of the impacts of delays, disruptions, and changes.
11. Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of contract terms and conditions related to claims and extension of time and ensure that all claims and requests are made in compliance with these requirements.
12. Work with legal and contract teams to resolve disputes related to contract terms and conditions.
13. Evaluate requests for extension of time and prepare appropriate responses to clients and contractors, ensuring that all necessary documentation and justification is provided.
14. Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of project specifications, plans, and contractual obligations to effectively manage extension of time and claims.
15. Identify potential claims and extension of time issues and work with project teams to develop proactive strategies to avoid or minimize their impact on the project schedule and budget.
