a recognized academic institution

4. Graduate of practical nursing program

Job Description:
Overview
The Senior Technology Engineer will assume
end-to-end responsibility as the technical authority for all Open Source
databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB) engineering functions within Emirates NBD
Group. While day-to-day operational activities are not the main focus, this
role will be accountable for the overall platform operational stability.
Working closely with the platform owner, the Senior Technology Engineer will
build and maintain a streamlined product roadmap that ensures product
operational efficiency. Key activities will include standardization,
automation, monitoring, and capacity planning. The candidate must stay updated
with relevant product releases and continuously engage in research and
development to select features for the product backlog.
Responsibilities
Standardization & Strategy
Development:
Establish a standard set of database
products catering to different workloads.
Plan and deliver agreed-upon standards.
Build the products strategy and roadmap.
Maintain and address the product backlog
quarterly.
Drive backlog projects to completion.
Manage the product's total cost of
ownership (TCO).
Automation & Efficiency:
Automate the installation process to
achieve zero-touch unattended deployment.
Review housekeeping activities and
identify key processes for automation.
Design solutions to enhance operational
stability.
Continuous Improvement:
Conduct continuous research and
development and engage with vendors.
Address problem tickets, risk, and audit
items in the product backlog.
Lead discussions with relevant
stakeholders to finalize product decisions.
Provide technical guidance and act as a
level 3 escalation point for operational activities.
Qualifications
Extensive experience with Open Source
databases, specifically PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
Proven ability to establish and enforce
standards to ensure database performance despite continuous development and
changes.
Strong background in automation,
monitoring, and capacity planning.
Up-to-date knowledge of relevant product
releases and features.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the
ability to drive projects to completion.
