Job description

We are looking for an Accountant who has good experience working in a Fitout, Contracting or Maintenance company.

 

Accounting and Financial Expertise:

- Process and record day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries using the ERPnext software.

- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions and issue invoices.

- Ensure timely collection of receivables, and follow up on payments.

- Maintaining accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and financial statements.

Reconciliation:

- Perform regular bank reconciliations, verify and reconcile discrepancies, and resolve any issues that arise. Ensure the accuracy of financial records and reports.

Payroll Support:

- Payroll processing by preparing payroll reports, verifying employee data, and ensuring timely and accurate payments.

Tax Compliance:

- Preparing and filing VAT returns in compliance with UAE tax regulations, staying updated on changes in tax laws, and coordinating with tax authorities.

Financial Analysis & Reporting:

- Preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

- Perform monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes and financial reports for management review.

- Conduct financial analysis to assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data.

Expense Management:

- Monitor and review expenses, verify receipts, and ensure compliance with company policies.

- Prepare expense reports and handle expense reimbursements.

Documentation and Filing:

- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, including invoices, receipts, and contracts.

- Ensure all documentation is properly filed and accessible.

 

Audit and Compliance:

- Support external audit activities by providing required documentation and information. Assist in ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

 

Qualifications:

- Have experience working in a Fitout, Contracting or Maintenance company.

- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA) is preferred.

- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.

- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.

- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., ERPnext) and advanced Excel skills.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.

- Experience working in a UAE-based organization.

- Knowledge of UAE VAT and local taxation regulations is highly desirable.
